Korea Gas Safety Corporation (President Hae-jong Lim), Hydrogen Convergence Alliance Promotion Team (Chairman Jae-do Moon), Korea Gas Corporation (Chairman Hee-Bong Chae) and Environmental Foundation (Chairman Choi Yeol) are in ’21. On February 2 (Tue), the National Assembly, industry, academia, research circles, and civic groups have announced that they have held the 2021 Green Hydrogen Forum inauguration event. The Green Hydrogen Forum was promoted at The Plaza Hotel (22nd floor of Diamond Hall) as a follow-up measure by the 1st Hydrogen Economic Committee (July Feb), and was launched to promptly revitalize the industrial ecosystem and expand public acceptance. On this day, the inaugural general meeting was held in parallel with online live broadcasting and offline to inform the public about the need and role of hydrogen economy and green hydrogen for realizing carbon neutrality.
The event was attended by 40 industry, academia, and research officials including Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun, Lee Hak-young, chairman of the Small and Medium Venture Business Committee of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Lee Hee-beom, former Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, President of Korea Gas Safety Corporation Hae-jong Lim, and Chairman of the Environment Foundation Choi Yeol. Prior to the forum inaugural general meeting, a pre-ceremony forum was held with the theme of’The role of hydrogen economy to become a carbon-neutral society in 2050′.

Hee-beom Lee, former Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy and Chairman of the Environment Foundation, Choi Yeol, were co-chaired as co-chairpersons, and members of the National Assembly (5 members), research institutes (8), industry (13), NGOs (1), who participated as preparatory members. Academia (11) and advisory (2) were appointed as experts in each field.
Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun, who attended the inaugural general meeting, said, “As the final destination of the Korean hydrogen economy is’Green Hydrogen,’ the government will spur the realization of green hydrogen and will surely achieve a great transformation into a’hydrogen power Korea’.” We hope that all of you who have been with us will become a strong conductor with creative ideas and collective intelligence.”
