According to CNN on the 1st (local time), SpaceX is preparing for the space travel project’Inspire 4,’ which is a team of only four-member civilians using its spacecraft’Crew Dragon’.

This is the first time in history that a space travel team composed entirely of civilians has been formed. Until then, civilians had been out in space, but all of them were joined by professional astronauts belonging to NASA or the Russian Federation of Space Corporation.

The leader of the team is billionaire Jared Isaacman, the CEO of Shift4, an American payment processing company. According to Forbes, Isaacman’s net worth, now only 37, is about $2 billion (about 2.2 trillion won). He is a trained pilot with experience in flying airplanes.

Jackman bought three additional tickets for this trip in addition to himself. At least $50 million per person will be paid for by Jackman. The list of the remaining three will be released on the 28th of this month.

Jackman donated these tickets to encourage donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. One of the tickets has already gone to a medical practitioner at St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and the other one draws one of those donated to St. Jude’s Hospital through Inspiration4.com. The last seat will be one of the entrepreneurs who used Isaac Man’s payment processing company Shift4.

The identity of the healthcare worker at St. Jude Children’s Hospital who won one ticket is not yet known. The person, according to Jackman, is a woman who has been at the forefront of cancer treatment for children in hospitals. Jackman said that as soon as the team composition is confirmed, everyone will be trained within 30 days.

SpaceX will train selected travelers at its facility. The training includes training conducted by astronauts, such as emergency preparedness, gravity adaptation training, and space suit training.

Jackman said, “The dream of a lifetime will come true,” he said. “We are one step closer to the future where anyone can venture out and explore the stars.”

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is not participating in this trip. He said, “Someday I will travel in space too,” but “That is not today.”

The duration of space travel or exactly where in Earth’s orbit will be headed has yet to be determined. It is known that Musk told Jinna on the 1st, “We will take you anywhere.”
