The impeachment prosecution against the Busan High Court chief judge Im Seong-geun, who was involved in the’Judongnongdan’, will go through the procedure of the National Assembly this week.
According to the Democratic Party on the 31st, Congressman Lee Tan-hee, a former judge, announced that he plans to propose a proposal for impeachment proceedings against Judge Im on the first day of the provisional National Assembly in February. This is a de facto’party opinion initiative’ that most of the Democratic Party lawmakers approve, and it is expected to be passed at the plenary session if there are no other variables. When a proposal for impeachment proceedings is proposed, the President of the National Assembly shall report it at the first plenary session, and the ballot shall be voted anonymously within 72 hours after 24 hours.
The proposal was named as co-sponsor for the leadership of Nak-yeon Lee and other members of the Justice Party and the Open Democratic Party. It is known that the co-sponsors alone exceeded the quorum (majority of members) of 151, and the impeachment proposal is expected to be processed if there are no unexpected variables. An official inside the Democratic Party explained, “The impeachment bill is expected to be reported to the plenary session scheduled for the day after tomorrow (February 2) and voted on the 4th.”
The Democratic Party emphasized the fact that the Judicial Nongdan First Tribunal judged that he had committed “unconstitutional acts” against Judge Im. Emphasis.

Meanwhile, the people’s power strongly criticized the Democratic Party’s pursuit of impeachment proceedings as “impeachment for the government”.
