Iran’s foreign minister opposes renegotiation of nuclear agreement

[아시아경제 조유진 기자] Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed the possibility of renegotiation on the Comprehensive Joint Action Plan (JCPOA), a nuclear agreement with major countries around the world.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Hativjade said on the 30th (local time), “The nuclear agreement is a multilateral international agreement that has no room for negotiation, approved by UN Security Council Resolution 2231, and the countries participating in the agreement are clear and immutable.

JCPOA is an agreement signed with Iran in 2015 by six countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany, which are five permanent members of the UN Security Council. Iran gave up nuclear development and six countries impose economic sanctions on Iran. Contains content to be released.

At the time, the U.S. President Donald Trump unilaterally declared withdrawal from the nuclear agreement in May 2018, restored sanctions against Iran, and Iran was in danger of reducing the scope of its implementation.

The new administration of Joe Biden put on the condition of resuming Iran’s obligations as a condition of returning to the Iranian nuclear agreement, in which the Trump regime unilaterally withdrew.

Saudi Arabia and its allies, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), previously called for the Gulf Bay Arabs to participate in all negotiations to respond to Iran’s ballistic missile program and the aid of proxy forces in the Middle East.

French President Emmanuel Macron also told reporters the day before that “the dialogue with Iran will be strict,” and “the nuclear negotiations should include allies in the Gulf region, such as Saudi Arabia,” the Saudi state broadcaster said.

In this regard, spokeswoman Hatifzade said, “If France cares about large-scale arms exports to the Persian Gulf Arab countries, it would be better to change its policy.” It is a major cause of instability.”

Iran, together with Russia, a strong asylum, is advocating the full restoration of the JCPOA. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zaryf and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting in Moscow on the 26th and at a joint press conference called for the US to return to the JCPOA as soon as possible and to restore full agreement among the countries concerned.
