[국제]’One dose’ Johnson & Johnson Corona 19 vaccine “66% preventive effect”

The vaccine clinical results of Johnson & Johnson, an American pharmaceutical company that are expecting a single dose of Corona 19 vaccine, have been announced.

It showed an average of 66% of the preventive effect, but 57% of it was prevented in the South African clinical trial, and it was found to be less effective against the mutant virus.

Because of the advantage of being immunized with just one vaccination and being able to distribute and store images at room temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, the clinical results of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine that countries have been waiting for have come.

Johnson & Johnson, who conducted phase 3 trials on 43,000 people since September last year, said that the vaccine’s preventive effect was an average of 66%.

As a result of regional phase 3 clinical trials, 72% in the United States and 57% in South Africa were shown to be preventive.

The company said it was 85% effective in preventing severe Corona 19.

Previously, the Food and Drug Administration and the FDA said that it can approve the use of the vaccine if it shows at least 50% prevention and is safe.

The problem, the New York Times pointed out, is that the prevention effect has fallen dramatically in South Africa.

South Africa is a place where a mutant virus, which is far more contagious than the general corona 19, has been found, and the virus has spread to at least 31 countries, including the United States.

Therefore, the findings that South Africa had a lower preventive effect than other regions suggests that it may be relatively vulnerable to South African mutations.

Other vaccines, such as Modena, have also reported that they are less effective in preventing mutations in South Africa.

Johnson & Johnson said it plans to apply for emergency use approval with the FDA as early as next week.
