Appointed as vice president of the Korean Football Association, Dae-eun Kim (56), chairman of the Jeonbuk Football Association, expressed his ambition to “start a vital role in Korean football.”
According to the Jeonbuk Football Association on the 28th, the Korea Football Association (Chairman Chung Mong-gyu) held a regular general meeting of delegates the day before and appointed President Kim Dae-eun as vice-chairman. This is the first time that the Jeonbuk Football Association president has been elected as the vice president of the Korea Football Association.
The new vice-chairman Kim plans to perform the bridge role of the Korean Football Association and the City Football Association. It also plans to actively propose policy and communicate for football development.
New Vice Chairman Kim Dae-eun said, “I will do my best for the development of Korean football beyond Jeonbuk, based on 30 years of experience as an administrator since I joined the Secretariat of Jeonbuk Football Association in 1991.”
Vice-Chairman Kim started playing soccer at Gunsan Jeil Middle School and has been walking a single road soccer life for 43 years, including 13 years of player life.
He also founded the Geumseok Baejeon National Student Football Competition in 1992 with the aim of inheriting the achievements of Chae Geum-seok to his descendants. This tournament is also the only soccer tournament created, hosted and supervised by the Municipal Football Association.
In addition, he played a major role in hosting the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup qualifying match, the 2005 East Asian Football Championships North Korea match, the opening match of the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup, and the opening ceremony of the 2018 Russia World Cup.
Vice-Chairman Kim’s term of office is two years and can be reappointed once.
