Football star Cristiano Ronaldo (35, Juventus) is being investigated by the police for violating the quarantine regulations related to Corona 19 (new coronavirus infection), local media such as the BBC and ANSA reported on the 28th. Ronaldo traveled with his girlfriend in a corona-risk area, where outsiders are prohibited, and got caught through social media.
Reportedly, Ronaldo has recently been accused of traveling to Courmayeur, a famous ski village in the northwestern province of Valle da Osta, bordering France. Ronaldo is known to have spent two days in Kurmayur on the 26th to 27th on the 27th birthday of his girlfriend, Georgena Rodriguez.
Rodriguez posted a video of him sitting on a snowmobile with Ronaldo on his Instagram, which was controversial when the Italian media allegedly violated the quarantine regulations. Rodriguez later deleted this post and posted photos celebrating birthdays at home with his family.
The province of Valle da Osta has been designated as a corona 19 risk area by the Italian government, and foreigners are prohibited from entering the province.
If Ronaldo, who lives in Turin, Piedmont, which is related to Juventus, is confirmed to have traveled to Valledaosta, he could face a fine of 400 euros (about 540,000 won) per person.
Earlier, Ronaldo was convened by the Portuguese national team in October last year and was quarantined for about two weeks after being confirmed for Corona 19 shortly after playing a group stage match between France and the European Football Federation (UEFA) Nations League.
