On the 27th, the prosecution, re-investigating the alleged assault of a taxi driver by Deputy Minister of Justice Lee Yong-gu, seized and searched the Seocho Police Station in Seoul.
Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office 5th Criminal Division (Director Dong-Eon Lee) sent investigators to the Seocho Police Station, which was in charge of the case for the first time this morning, to secure the records of the case and internal reports.
Sergeant B’s cell phone, which was suspicious of covering up the black box video that taxi driver A showed at the time, was not seen, was also reported to be confiscated. As soon as the prosecution finishes analyzing the confiscated material, Sergeant B and other officials in Seocho-seo are scheduled to investigate.
On the night of November 6, last year, Vice Minister Lee assaulted a taxi driver who tried to awaken himself from being drunk in front of his apartment house in Seocho-gu, Seoul, but he was not arrested, resulting in controversy.
At the time, the taxi driver said he did not want to be punished, and the police applied the charges of assault under the criminal law, which is an anti-governmental crime, and closed the case. When the suspicion of investigation Muma was raised, the police have clarified it to the effect that “there is no black box video to prove the charges.”
In the process of re-investigating the case, the prosecution secured a statement that a taxi driver visited a black box company and filmed a video of the situation with a mobile phone and showed it to Sergeant B, the investigator in charge. But Sergeant B said, “I won’t see the video.”
