[아시아경제 김봉주 기자] A teenage boy in the United States is shocked by murdering his mother who rebuked him for poor school grades.
According to Fox News on the 25th (local time), a Florida court sentenced Gregory Ramos (17), who was buried after murdering her mother, to a 45-year sentence for first-degree murder, damage to the body, and destruction of evidence.
In November 2018, Ramos, who was 15 at the time, strangled and murdered his mother, Gale Cleveland, at his home in Dever, 46, and buried it in the back of a nearby church.
Ramos, who quarreled with his mother over school sexual issues, and committed the crime, called 911 after the crime and filed a false report saying, “There was a robbery at home. My mother disappeared.”
Ramos also made up with two friends and disguised himself as if he had been robbed at home. However, on the day of the crime, Ramos was arrested as a murder suspect and confessed all of the crime. At the time, it is said that the police, who considered Ramos’s stiff expression suspicious, questioned him.
“It was one of the worst sociopaths Ramos had ever met while working,” said local sheriff Mike Chitwood. He even boasted of attempting to cover up the crime immediately after his arrest without feeling any remorse.
It is said that he showed reflection only after standing in court on the 22nd, when the sentence was held after a two-year trial. Ramos said in court, “I did irreparable damage to the world and my family,” and “I only want to ask for forgiveness without making excuses for why I did this.”
As the fact that Ramos and his mother usually exercised and had a good time together spread through social media, this incident is having a bigger impact.
