As SK Wyverns was sold to Shinsegae E-Mart, it disappeared leaving 21 years of history behind.

SK Wyverns, which was born after the dismantling of the Ssangbangwool Raiders in 2000, entered the first Korean series in 2003 and caused a blast.

His heyday was in the late 2000s, led by director Kim Seong-geun.

By defeating Doosan in 2007, we won the first Korean Series and achieved an integrated victory. By 2012, we entered the Korean Series for 6 consecutive years, and in 2008 and 2010, we have also built an integrated championship.

The 22 consecutive wins made through the 2009~2010 season remained the record for the most consecutive wins.

SK, which added the 4th Korean series championship in 2018, has grown Kim Gwang-hyun, who has been honored with him since his debut in 2007, into a major leaguer.

After signing a sale with E-Mart, SK expressed its gratitude to the fans who supported them for 21 years.

SK said, “I will keep the moments with my fans as precious memories.”

E-Mart, which took over SK Wyverns as a whole, also expressed a strong determination to play from the opening of this season.

It plans to confirm the new name soon and to officially launch it in March.

According to KBO’s regulations, it should have been transferred by the end of November of last year, but it can be approved if the KBO determines that it is an urgent reason.

“The season is about to start, so I’ll check that part to see if these parts are possible.”

The athletes leave Jeju Island, the spring camp site, as scheduled on February 1, clearing up the cluttered atmosphere and preparing for a new leap forward.
