England’s national striker Mason Greenwood (20, Manchester United) made a big success against’rival’ Liverpool, and then posted a proud SNS post.
Greenwood started with Liverpool in Manchester’s Old Trafford on the 25th (Korean time) in the 2020-2021 season in the English FA Cup round 4 (the round of 32) and flew with one goal and one help. Manchester United also won 3-2 thanks to Greenwood’s performance.
It was a pretty meaningful game for Greenwood. In the 26th minute of the first half after 0-1, Marcus Rashford’s pass and tied the goal, making it the youngest player to score against Liverpool (19 years, 115 days). The youngest record in this category is the 19-year-old 83 days set by Wayne Rooney in January 2005. Greenwood helped Rashford’s goal in the third minute of the second half and even earned help.
Immediately after the game, Greenwood left a post on his Instagram with a photo of a goal ceremony and “Hey, anti-people who doubt and hate me, I hope you enjoy this activity.”
In Greenwood’s post, Manchester United’s official account also quarreled with “the perfect answer,” and fellow defenders Harry Maguire (28) and Luke Shaw (26) also encouraged Greenwood with emoticons to signify sympathy.
Now Greenwood only plays in the English Premier League (EPL). He has only scored one goal in 13 games (9 starts) in the league. Despite the young age, it is evaluated that the potential is certain enough to be selected for the England national team. As a player raised by the youth system, Manchester United are also looking forward to the explosion of Greenwood’s potential.
Meanwhile, Greenwood’s contract period is until June 2023. In October 2019, the contract was renewed once.
