Thailand's first vaccine for AstraZeneca coronavirus on the 14th of next month

The Thai government is scheduled to start vaccination against the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) on the 14th of next month.

According to Bloomberg News and online media Kaosot on the 25th, the Ministry of Health said that the first Corona 19 vaccination group will be medical staff working at the forefront of Corona 19 response.

It also explained that some government leaders will also receive the vaccine to promote vaccine safety.

Thailand has ordered 61 million doses of vaccine from multinational pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, and last week the Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the vaccine for emergency use for the first time.

Accordingly, 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive in Thailand in the first week of February and be used for vaccination.

The remaining 150,000 times will be brought in in March and April respectively.

Separately, the Thai government has decided to import 2 million doses of China’s Sinobaeksa vaccine from next month.

200,000 shipments will arrive at the end of next month, followed by 800,000 shipments and 1 million shipments in March and April respectively.

However, the approval of the FDA for urgent use of the Synovac vaccine is expected to be decided after about three weeks.

The Thai government plans to complete vaccinations in about half of the population of about 70 million people by the end of this year.

On this day, 187 people were newly confirmed in Thailand, and the cumulative number of corona 19 confirmed increased to 13,687.

In addition, two people died and the number of Corona 19 deaths was counted as 75.
