[전국][현장영상] Daejeon Mission Education Facility 127 confirmed…”Related facilities nationwide”

[앵커]

At an unlicensed educational facility in Daejeon run by a Christian missionary, 120 people, including students and faculty, were confirmed to have Corona 19.

The mission education facilities are scattered across the country, and there are signs that the wave will increase, as 8 people have already been confirmed at the Gwangju facility.

Daejeon Mayor Hur Tae-jeong is holding a briefing at Daejeon City Hall.

Fellow citizens, there have been no additional cases during the night after 125 cases were confirmed yesterday in connection with the outbreak of group infection in an unauthorized school operated by our local Junggumo Mission.

Today, I would like to explain the situation further after last night’s briefing.

First of all, the facility where group infection occurred is an unauthorized school operated by the parent mission.

The headquarters of the mission is located in Jung-gu, our city, and operates IEM in Daejeon, TCS in each region, and 34 schools of a kind.

In order to contain further infections, our city received contact information from each local representative for 23 facilities from the mission side late last night and submitted it to the script.

Today, additional tests will be conducted for each trial. This facility, which occurred in a group, was a total of 158 people, including 120 students and 38 people, including faculty and staff.

There were 125 positive, 18 negative, and 3 undecided. Out of 12 others, 11 will be tested in other regions, one in our region, and the undecided subject will have the results today.

This is a plan for transfer actions for confirmed patients.

125 confirmed patients were transferred to the Asan Life Treatment Center for mild or asymptomatic depending on symptoms, and transfers to 100 people have now begun.

A confirmed case with symptoms will be hospitalized at a hospital dedicated to infectious diseases in the area.

Eighteen negative judges will be self-quarantine after training on self-isolation rules.

In addition, we plan to close the facility for 3 weeks after quarantine and disinfection.

Looking at the reason for this shocking-scale infectious disease confirmed, this building has 1 basement level and 5 floors above ground, and I think it is the big reason that students and some faculty lived together in the same building.

Boarding facilities are located on the 3rd to 5th floors of the building, and some floors shared showers and toilets.

In addition, it was confirmed that 7 to 20 people were used together per dormitory facility.

It was confirmed that no partitioning measures were taken in the restaurant located in the basement, and when these various situations were put together, it is estimated that many people lived in groups under the conditions of dense, enclosed, and closely spaced conditions. .

For reference, to briefly mention the characteristics of this school, it is known that the curriculum operates various types of programs such as GED, SAT, and Study Abroad.

Regarding the route of initial infection, a joint investigation team at Bang Dae-bon, the National Police Agency, and the city and district will conduct an investigation at the site this morning.

For reference, according to the representative’s statement, it was confirmed that enrolled students started admission from Monday, January 4th, and freshmen entered the school from January 11th to 15th.

However, it is known that after entering the hospital, they lived in isolation without any outsiders entering.

Therefore, the investigation will be conducted with the possibility that an asymptomatic infected person was admitted at this time and spread to other people while living in quarantine, and the possibility of infection by school staff, given the situation that five staff members are commuting to work.

Regarding the concern of further infection, unlike other cases where they gathered in a local facility like a religious group and were educated and scattered nationwide.

It seems that the boarding process was shared in the facility where the group infection occurred, so additional investigations are required.

Nevertheless, it is unfortunate that, looking at the contents of the basic investigation, it is very regrettable that the facility did not take appropriate measures, such as a preemptive examination, even though the first symptom occurred on January 12th.

Schools where group infections occurred are operated by religious facilities, so our city and Jung-gu have been checking the quarantine rules for the chapel on the second floor since July 1st.

Recently, according to Jung-gu, even if the facility was running a camp in January, there was also an on-site guidance to prevent it in Jung-gu.

However, in addition, we will thoroughly investigate the compliance of quarantine regulations, such as whether or not distancing from various aspects such as face-to-face worship and facility use, and take legal action against violations.

However, since this facility was not accredited as an unauthorized school and is not a private institute, there is a side that was in the blind spot of the law.

In this regard, we are requesting that today’s major script meeting make up for incomplete matters such as government-level regulations.
