He also said, “We will closely consult with the alliance on the North Korean nuclear issue.” In the future, it is expected that a policy toward North Korea will be different from that of former President Trump.

At a briefing at the US White House on the 22nd local time, spokesman Jen Saki referred to a “new strategy”, evaluating North Korea’s nuclear ballistic missiles as a “serious threat” to world peace and safety.

This is not the first time the Biden administration has mentioned a new approach.

Earlier, the nominee of Secretary of State Tony Blincoln also said at a Senate approval hearing on the 19th that “we will revisit the overall approach” regarding North Korea policy.

The overall assessment of the Biden administration that former President Trump failed to make progress on denuclearization even during the two US-North Korea summits.

The prevailing prediction is that the Biden administration will take a traditional bottom-up approach to working-level negotiations instead of Trump’s’top-down’ approach, and a multilateral approach that works with neighboring countries.

2. 400 confirmed again in one day… 9 more deaths

As of today 0 o’clock, there are 431 new cases of Corona 19 in Korea. There were 403 local outbreaks and 28 foreign inflows, which fell to 300 yesterday, and the number of new confirmed cases rose to 400 in one day. The death toll increased by nine. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun ordered the Ministry of Education to review class plans for the new semester at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting held at the Seoul Government Complex.

3. Japanese Foreign Minister “Korea, correct the judgment of compensation for comfort women”

The Japanese government has come up with a position to demand the Korean government’s’correction’ against the’comfort women’s victims’ compensation ruling under the Seoul Central District Act. Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said yesterday, “This ruling is contrary to the Korea-Japan Claims Agreement and the Comfort Women Agreement,” and demanded that the Korean government take appropriate measures. The Japanese government has insisted on dismissing this lawsuit by advocating the principle of “exemption of sovereignty” under customary international law that “the sovereign state shall not stand in the courts of other countries”.

4. Warm weekend… The highest 10 degrees in the daytime in Seoul, 12 degrees in Busan
