Signed MOU with KIAT·Naju Innovation Industrial Complex Resident Business Council

[일렉트릭파워 이재용 기자] On January 22nd, KEPCO (President Jong-gap Kim) signed a’energy industry cooperation development support business agreement’ with KIAT (Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Agency) and the Naju Innovation Industrial Complex Resident Business Council at the KEPCO Art Center in Seoul.
The ceremony was attended by KEPCO President Kim Jong-gap, KIAT President Yoo Ji-cheol, and Lee Nam Naju Innovation Industrial Complex Resident Business Council Chairman Yoon-jong Jeon, Director of Trade and Cooperation, Ministry of Industry.
This agreement is intended to support energy valley companies’ advance into overseas markets and win orders for overseas projects through mutual cooperation with each agency through ODA (Energy Industry Cooperation Development Support Project, Official Development Assistant).
ODA refers to a project aimed at supporting development cooperation in response to the demands for cooperation in energy industrialization of developing countries, and in connection with this, for the purpose of supporting domestic power and energy companies’ entry into emerging markets and overseas project orders.
Energy Valley is a project to create a future growth ecosystem in which KEPCO and local governments cooperate to attract companies and research centers focusing on new energy businesses. As of January this year, 501 companies have been attracted.
At the signing ceremony, KEPCO President Kim Jong-gap said, “This business agreement is expected to greatly contribute to securing the self-sustainability and competitiveness of companies in the Energy Valley, and KEPCO is building overseas networks and technological capabilities to expand overseas markets and I will actively support it.”
