Iran’s top leader, Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei, raised the image of former US President Donald Trump and pledged revenge.
On the 22nd (local time), Hamenei posted an image captured from a drone on his Persian Twitter account of a man playing golf with a blond and red shirt reminiscent of former President Trump. The shadow of the drone casts over a blond man swinging a golf club on the green.
In the image, “The person who ordered the killing of General Soleimani and those who killed him must be punished. Revenge will come when appropriate” is written.
Foreign media such as Reuters reported last month that Hamenei made a revenge on the murder of a former commander of the Kuds Army, an elite soldier of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Gushem Soleimani.
Former commander Soleimani, the war hero of Iran and the chieftain of Hamenei, was killed on January 3 last year in a U.S. drone attack at Baghdad Airport in Iraq.
During the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988), he was appointed commander-in-chief of the Kuds Army in 1998 after earning his reputation as a division leader.
In Iran, he was treated as a hero, and there was a view that Soleimani, the head of the Kuds army, was closer to the’second man’ after the supreme leader Hamenei than the elected president.
However, the United States and Israel regarded the Kuds forces as the core of support for terrorism and sought to eliminate him.
After the removal of Soleimani, the US Department of Defense announced that the US military had killed Soleimani under President Trump’s instructions.
This incident caused Iran’s missile attack on US military bases in Iraq, which once engulfed a war in the region, and further froze relations between the United States and Iran.
In response, Iran reiterated its willingness to revenge against President Trump. In June of last year, President Trump issued an arrest warrant and asked Interpol to put President Trump on the red wanted list.
