Singer Wheesung (39) admitted most of the charges of habitual administration of propofol.
Wheesung, who was disabled on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act in August of last year, is known to have received his first trial at the Andong Branch of the Daegu District Court on the 19th.
In 2019, Wheesung is accused of administering a number of times his acquaintance A and Propofol. He is said to have generally admitted charges of habitual administration of propofol at the first trial. Mr. A, an acquaintance, also admitted all the charges.
Wheesung was suspected of taking Propofol regularly from 2011 to early 2013 at a dermatology clinic in Gangnam, Seoul. However, in 2013, he was acquitted in an investigation conducted by the prosecution while serving in the military. In April 2019, the exposure of the broadcaster Amy raised the suspicion of taking propofol again, but he has actively denied it. Wheesung’s side also complained of resentment, saying, “It is the purpose of treatment, not illegal medication.”
In April 2020, Wheesung was found distracted and collapsed while taking a drug believed to be a type of sleep anesthetic in a bathroom in a shopping mall in Songpa-gu, Seoul. As a result of investigating whether or not to take drugs, the police found it to be etomidate, a sleep-inducing anesthetic that was not classified as narcotics, and took measures home.
