A series of new coronavirus infections (Corona 19) occurred in nursing facilities in Seongdong-gu and Jongno-gu, Seoul. There are a total of 41 confirmed cases in both facilities to date.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 20th, one person concerned with a nursing home in Seongdong-gu was confirmed by the preliminary inspection on the 9th, and 25 people were confirmed by the 18th, and four additional people on the 19th.

A total of 30 related confirmed cases were infected, with one inhabitant of a nursing home, one nursing care worker, and two visitors the day before.

A total of 172 people, including contacts, were tested and found 29 positive and 143 negative.

The building is used as a nursing home and a residence for the elderly living alone. Among nursing home residents, those who could move used the physical therapy room located on a different floor.

It was found that the entire building used one elevator, and in residential facilities, shower rooms and toilets were shared.

In the case of collective infection in a nursing facility in Jongno-gu, 8 people were confirmed by the 16th after the first confirmed on the 10th and 2 more on the 19th.

There were a total of 11 confirmed cases, and two people admitted to a nursing home the previous day were confirmed.

As a result of testing a total of 316 people, including contacts, such as those related to the facility, 10 positive and 306 negative were found.

The facility has a 1.5m distance between beds, and each room has a separate bathroom. However, it was found that nursing home residents did not wear masks.

In addition, confirmed patients are coming out one after another in nursing facilities such as Yangcheon-gu and Gwangjin-gu. The number of confirmed cases related to nursing facilities in Yangcheon-gu increased by 3 the day before, to a total of 55, and 9 confirmed cases have occurred at nursing facilities in Gwangjin-gu to date.
