An active duty US soldier was arrested for helping the Islamic extremist terrorist group Islamic State (IS) attack New York, USA.
According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 20th, the U.S. Department of Justice, the District Prosecutors’ Office of the Southern Federal District of New York, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) allegedly attempted to help the IS attack US troops stationed in the Middle East on the 19th (terrorism conspiracy). Private James Bridges, 20, was arrested.
Private Bridges was a cavalry scout from the 3rd Infantry Division in Fort Stewart, Georgia.
Bridges, who joined the army in September 2019, was deeply immersed in the radical thoughts of jihadists (Islamic crusadeists). Online, he worked under the name’Col Gonzalez’.

On social media, a photo of him dressed in a dress reminiscent of an Islamist was posted, as well as an online article expressing his support for IS.
Then, in October of last year, an FBI secret agent, disguised as an’IS sympathizer’, contacted him. Not thinking of being an FBI agent, he immediately said, “I want to help IS.”

Bridges firmly believes in the FBI secret agent as an IS sympathizer, and has given him advice on New York’s potential’attack targets’, including the 9/11 memorial facility. They also handed over the US Army training manual and military tactical guide.

“All I can do is give some advice, teach me training skills,” he said. “Please contact your brother anytime.”

His advice grew bolder. In December of last year, IS combatants attacked and killed US troops stationed in the Middle East, and advised how to avoid attacks by US Special Forces. He also discussed the specific deployment of IS fighters, weapons, and satellite images. The main concern was how to maximize the attack on the US military.
This month, I sent a picture of myself in front of a flag used by IS fighters to a secret FBI agent. It was a kind of’a pledge of loyalty’. On the 12th, at the request of an undercover agent, a video was sent out containing a propaganda speech supporting IS attacks against the US military.
NBC broadcasts reported that Bridges could face up to 20 years in prison for alleged terrorism.
