[아이뉴스24 이현석 기자] The eldest son of CJ Chairman Lee Jae-hyun, who had stepped down from the front line on suspicion of smuggling cannabis, reinstated as head of global business at CJ CheilJedang.
According to CJ Group on the 18th, manager Lee began to go to work at CJ CheilJedang on this day. Previously, Lee was self-sufficient due to the suspension of his sentence in September 2019 after he was sentenced to three years in prison and four years probation for smuggling of cannabis.

Director Lee will be in charge of discovering strategic products targeting overseas markets and establishing and executing business strategies. Previously, Mr. Lee worked as the former head of the Food Strategy Department.
It is known that this decision was made in consideration of the high understanding of the US market and abundant overseas experience, such as taking over the integration strategy after taking over the US frozen food company Schwans. In the future, Director Lee is expected to focus on discovering next-generation K-food strategic products following dumplings and kimchi and expanding global business.
A CJ official said, “I know that Lee has spent a lot of self-sufficiency and studied and pondered the group business and his role.”
Meanwhile, Director Lee, born in 1990, graduated from Columbia University’s Department of Financial Economics and joined CJ CheilJedang in 2013. It is known that he has been working as a manager of the bio business team and then moved to the first food strategy planning department to take business classes.
