[국제]Brazil’s COVID-19 vaccination begins…”Up to 500,000 US deaths”

As vaccinations have begun in Brazil, the world’s second-largest COVID-19 death, the responsibility for President Bolsonaro is growing.

In the United States, there is a gloomy prospect that an additional 100,000 will be killed by next month.

The Russian-developed Sputnik V was denied approval because it did not go through a phase 3 clinical trial.

Vaccination in Brazil, where more than 200,000 people were killed and the second most corona19 death toll after the United States, was nearly a month behind neighboring countries such as Argentina and Chile.

Because of this, protests demanding the resignation of President Bolsonaro, who failed to fight COVID-19, are continuing, and the opposition party has announced that it will pursue impeachment.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., where more than 3,000 deaths occur every day, there is a gloomy prospect that an additional 100,000 people could die by next month.

Ron Klein, who will lead the Biden administration’s White House secretary, predicted on CNN that the number of COVID-19 deaths in the U.S., currently close to 400,000, could rise to 500,000 in five weeks.

He said he inherited a very difficult situation from the Trump administration, but he said he would get 100 million doses of the vaccine by the 100th day of President Biden’s inauguration to reverse the situation.
