President Moon Jae-in will hold a New Year’s press conference at the Cheongwadae Chunchu Hall on the 18th to reveal the New Year’s political plan.
The interview is held for about 100 minutes from 10 am and is broadcast live on TV.
President Moon plans to freely receive questions from 120 journalists from home and abroad who attended the conference in all areas, including quarantine, society, politics, economy, and diplomatic security.

President Moon’s position on the real estate issue, which is considered a major cause of the decline in the government approval rating, is also noted.
In his New Year’s address on the 11th, President Moon said, “I am very sorry to the people,” and said, “We will put special emphasis on supply expansion,” while apologizing for the real estate issue. Therefore, there is a possibility to suggest specific measures at the New Year’s conference.
The follow-up measures to reform power institutions such as the prosecution, quarantine measures such as securing vaccines, and measures to recover the economic shock from Corona 19 are also expected to be major issues.
In the field of diplomatic and security, it is expected that the question will be focused on how to advance the peace process on the Korean Peninsula. In addition, it is of interest as to what solutions to come up with the Korea-Japan relations that have been stiffened by the conscription compensation judgment and the comfort women victim compensation judgment.
