With a lot of snow forecast in the central region, snowfall continues from the afternoon of the 17th, and heavy snow warnings are being released.

Heavy snow warnings have been in effect in the southeastern region of Seoul, Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, and parts of Chungnam, and snow is falling in the central region, the western interior of Gyeongsang, and the Jeolla region, and some regions are showing a lull.

Snow is expected to fall again from the dawn of the 18th.

According to the Meteorological Administration, at 11:30 pm on the 17th, Chungbuk (Jecheon, Jeungpyeong, Danyang, Eumseong, Jincheon, Chungju, Goesan), Chungnam (Asan, Cheonan), Gangwon-do (Jungbusan, Jeongseonpyeong, Pyeongchangpyeong, Hoengseong, Wonju, Yeongwol) ), an additional heavy snow advisory was announced.

From 11 am on the 17th, heavy snow warnings and preliminary warnings are in effect throughout the country. According to the standards announced by the Meteorological Agency, a heavy snow advisory is issued when the amount of snow accumulated over 24 hours is expected to exceed 5cm.

At 9:20 pm, heavy snow warnings went into effect in Seoul (Southeastern region), Chungnam (Dangjin, Hongseong, Taean, Yesan, Cheongyang), and Gyeonggi (Yangpyeong, Hanam), and at 9 pm in northern Jeju.

Earlier at 8:10 pm, Incheon (excluding Ganghwa-gun), Gyeonggi (Yeoju, Ansan, Hwaseong, Gunpo, Seongnam, Gwangmyeong, Gwangju, Anseong, Icheon, Yongin, Uiwang, Pyeongtaek, Osan, Anyang, Suwon, Bucheon, Siheung, Gwacheon ), a heavy snow warning came into effect.

The Meteorological Administration predicted that the snow area would gradually expand to the east and show a temporary lull during the night, but the intensity of snow increased from 3 am on the 18th to increase the number of places where heavy snow warnings were announced.

It is expected that 3~10cm of snow will fall on the central region (excluding the east coast), Jeonbuk, northern Jeonnam region, Gyeongbuk region (excluding the east coast), the western inland of Gyeongnam, the west sea 5do, and Ulleungdo and Dokdo by 6 p.

In the middle and southern part of Yeongseo, Gangwon-do, 15cm heavy snow may pour over the same period.

An official from the Meteorological Agency explained, “The snow will continue until the afternoon of the 18th, but there are some places that show a temporary lull during the night.”
