Tested 21,000 people, early detection of 55 asymptomatic infections

Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 17th that it will extend the operation of the temporary screening inspection center from the 17th of this month to February 14th for four weeks. These measures were taken in accordance with the decision to maintain social distancing in step 2.5 and the implementation of a special quarantine period during the Lunar New Year holidays.
Paju City Temporary Screening and Inspection Offices are operated in two places:’Unjeong Park Management Office’ and’Munsan-eup Administrative Welfare Center Parking Lot’. It is open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays, and 9 am to 1 pm on weekends and holidays.
Public health center screening clinics are open from 9 am to 9 pm on weekdays, and from 9 am to 6 pm on weekends and holidays. Citizens who visited the temporary screening test center and did not receive the test because of the late time can visit the public health center screening clinic.
At the Unjeong Temporary Screening and Inspection Office in the park management office, 16,298 people were tested until the 15th, and through this, 36 infected people were detected early. At the Munsan Temporary Screening and Inspection Center, located in the Munsan-eup Administrative Welfare Center, 5731 people were tested by the 15th and 19 infected people were found.
Citizens without symptoms visited the temporary screening test center and examined it, and as a result, 55 infected people were found early, and it was an opportunity to block the spread of the community.
“It is a critical time to break the infection chain in the community through active participation of citizens,” said Paju City Chief Choi Jong-hwan.
