The Kakao Certificate issued when you create a KakaoTalk wallet is a private certificate that can replace a joint certificate (formerly public certificate).
Currently, the website of public institutions that can be used as a Kakao certificate is the National Tax Service Hometax, a service for issuing a certified copy of resident registration for the government 24 year-end settlement, and the National Newspaper is also available within this month.
KakaoTalk wallet can be created through the agreement of terms and conditions and identification process in the KakaoTalk More tab.
The Kakao certificate issued by creating a wallet can be used conveniently in situations where authentication is required through simple password input or biometric authentication without installing a separate program or app. The validity period is 2 years.
The National Tax Service Hometax year-end settlement simplification service can be used by anyone who has created a KakaoTalk wallet and completed account verification.
Just select the’Kakao Talk’ icon on the simple authentication login screen of Hometax at the National Tax Service and enter your phone number and necessary information.
After that, simple authentication login is completed by entering a six-digit password or verifying the identity by biometric authentication in the authentication request message sent to KakaoTalk.
Kakao said that to help users understand, it has added a year-end settlement tab to the’Shop tab’ where you can check year-end settlement information and wallet usage.
In the future, Kakao plans to steadily increase the utilization of Kakao Certificate and Kakao Talk wallet by cooperating with various organizations, foundations, companies, and educational institutions that require mobile identity/credentials service.
In addition to Kakao Certificate, the Kakao Talk wallet contains QR check-in in the electronic access list, 495 national technical certificates issued by the Human Resources Development Service, and mobile driver’s license verification service.
