Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong will be sentenced to revoke the case tomorrow (18th).

As the Supreme Court additionally acknowledged Lee’s bribe, the possibility of imprisonment is predicted, and the Samsung Compliance Monitoring System is expected to act as a key variable.

In August of last year, the Supreme Court abolished the case of Gukjeong Nongdan, which was concluded by the Supreme Court as a probation at the appeal hearing, and returned it to the Seoul High Court because of the amount of bribery.

It was recognized as a bribe for the price of three horses that Samsung gave to Choi Soon-sil and 1.6 billion won in support from the Winter Sports Gifted Center.

According to the purpose of repatriation for destruction, the amount of bribery given by Vice-Chairman Lee will increase to 8.6 billion won, and if a charge of embezzling the money is applied, the person will be sentenced to life in prison or five years or more.

It can be said that the possibility of Vice Chairman Lee’s reentry has increased, but the variable is Samsung’s compliance system.

From the first trial, the revoked remand hearing court ordered Vice-Chairman Lee to conduct compliance management and to create a surveillance system that would be afraid of even the general chief.

It also implied that if it is operated effectively, it can be reflected in sentencing.

The special prosecutor asked for an evasion of the court, saying that he had expressed his intention to sentence him to probation, and socially, there was a criticism that he was “a trick to care for chaebols”.

When the request for refusal of the special prosecutor was finally dismissed, the judiciary designated three persons recommended by the judiciary, special prosecutor, and vice chairman Lee as professional judges to evaluate the Samsung compliance system.

However, in accordance with the innocence judgment concluded by the Supreme Court, saying that the special prosecution is an ineffective system, he asked the court to sentence Lee to a severe sentence of nine years in prison.

On the other hand, Vice-Chairman Lee protested that it was unavoidably given the money to former President Park Geun-hye’s request, and appealed for a probation of execution as it strengthened enough monitoring of the head of the family.

If Vice-Chairman Lee is sentenced to jail and re-imprisoned, Samsung will face a vacancy again after three years.

On the other hand, if the probation is given, there will be controversy that the judiciary has looked after the conglomerates again, and the result of Lee’s destruction and repatriation trial foretells a terrible post-storm in any way.
