The final of’eK League 2020′ will be held on the 16th (Saturday) at Afreeca TV’s Frickup Studio.

The eK League is a’FIFA Online 4′-based e-sports competition jointly hosted by the Korea Professional Football Federation and the Korea e-Sports Association and hosted by Africa TV, and was held for the first time this year. A total of 595 teams applied for the qualifying round for the selection of the national team from 22 K-League teams held in November last year, attracting attention. The final race, in which 22 teams that passed the preliminary round, competed from December 17 to January 9, and 21 matches were broadcast live through Africa TV, recording a cumulative number of viewers of about 2.26 million.

In the quarterfinals held on January 9, Daejeon won against Jeju with a set score of 3-2, and Ansan won Pohang 3-0, completing the final match between Daejeon and Ansan.

Daejeon is made up of players from’Galaxy X’, a professional e-sports game team based in Daejeon. Along with captain Shin Bo-seok, a famous professional e-sports player and commentator on EA Sports’ EA Champions Cup (EACC), players with rich experience, such as Choi Seung-hyuk and Kim Si-kyung, were selected as strong candidates for the eK League 2020 championship before the competition. As if to prove this, he recorded the most set points and passed the group stage, defeating Jeonbuk in the quarterfinals and Jeju in the fourth quarter in order to reach the final.

Ansan is writing the’Cinderella Story’ in this competition. Ansan, who was considered relatively weak, passed the group stage with the performance of Kim Yoo-min, who had won the’Man City FIFA Online Team Selection’, and made a surprise to advance to the final by defeating Seoul E-Land and Pohang in the tournament.

Before the final on the 16th, the 3rd-4th place match between Jeju and Pohang will be held from 6 pm, and after the 3rd-4th place match ends, the finals between Daejeon and Ansan will follow. Both the 3rd and 4th place matches and the finals will be broadcast live on the official broadcasting station of the African TV eK League and Olleh TV View Play.

The total prize money for’eK League 2020′ is 17 million won. The winning team will be given a prize money of 10 million won, a Zenix gaming chair, and a right to advance to the offline qualifier of the EACC Korean national team.
