[아시아경제 성기호 기자] From the 16th, India will be vaccinated against the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) at 3,000 locations nationwide.

According to Indian media on the 15th, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially announce the start of vaccination through a videoconference on the morning of the 16th.

India is currently approved for urgent use of both types of vaccines. It is an AstraZeneca-Oxford University vaccine (Coby Shield) made by a local company Serum Institute (SII) and a vaccine (co vaccine) by a local company Barat Biotech.

India first starts vaccination with 10 million medical staff. On the first day of distribution, about 300,000 medical staff will be vaccinated.

Following medical staff, vaccinations are conducted for workers in the quarantine front, such as police, military personnel, and public officials, and those in their 50s or older or those with complications and chronic diseases under 50. The number of people who receive these priority vaccinations alone reaches 300 million.

The cumulative number of corona 19 confirmed cases in India has been counted to 10,52,7638 by this day, an increase of 15,590 from the previous day.

India’s cumulative number of confirmed cases is second in the world after the United States, but the number of new confirmed cases per day, which once reached 100,000 people, has recently dropped significantly to the mid-10,000 range.
