Naver and Kakao announced on the 15th that they have signed a five-way business agreement (MOU) with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide’mobile national certification and related services’.
Certificates issued by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry such as computer literacy and word processor are also available on Naver and Kakao Talk.
Naver said, “We plan to further enhance the certification service and link it with internal services such as Naver blog, cafe, intellectual, and expert in various ways.” It is reported that the Naver Café management team is devising a method such as proving their professionalism by disclosing the certificate on the Naver blog or intellectual profile, or setting only specific certificate holders to sign up.
Naver CEO Han Seong-suk said, “We will allow users to use the Naver app itself as a portfolio.”
Kakao said, “The certification in the Kakao wallet can be safely used with Kakao’s highest level of security technology. We plan to expand the certification service to KakaoTalk open chat and Kakao TV.”
