Various support for localization development in the selection of’WP-Cody30′
[에너지데일리 송병훈 기자] Korea Western Power (President Kim Byeong-sook) announced on the 14th that it has launched the 2020 material, parts and equipment mass production performance evaluation support project for the localization of generator materials with government-affiliated agencies and SMEs.
This project was designed to directly demonstrate localized products by SMEs in the power generation sector at the facilities of Western Power, and to stimulate the localization of SMEs through various government support.
In the launch meeting held on the 14th, five SMEs selected for the’Localization Development WP-Cody 30′ promoted by Western Power in November of last year participated. These companies will receive various support related to localization by September this year. In the first half of this year following last year, Western Power plans to promote the second phase of the’Localization Development WP-Cody30′ project.
An official from Western Power said, “We will continue to make every effort to revitalize localized development in the future.”
Meanwhile, Western Power began localizing in earnest from March 2018, when President Kim Byeong-sook took office, and has raised its own localization rate through a total of 462 cases in the past two years. In particular, it is taking the lead in creating a localization ecosystem through field presentations to remove barriers to entry in the power generation industry, support for Test-Beds that directly test developed products in actual facilities, and WP-Cody 30, which actively supports various difficulties in the localization process.
