“Before Corona, there wasn’t much noise between floors, but kids don’t go to school and adults don’t go to work, so it tastes like death.”

As of the 13th, more than 100 videos were uploaded on YouTube, a video sharing platform, with the keyword’Zipcock Holm’.

Some of the videos are composed of contents that are likely to cause inter-floor noise, such as a homet diet using lunch breaks while working from home, and an exciting dance to get rid of the stress of the zipcock.

When the business of karaoke is banned due to social distancing, people who enjoy’home karaoke’ at home by purchasing a Bluetooth microphone are also a problem.

According to Gmarket, an online shopping mall operated by eBay Korea, sales of karaoke microphones surged 66% from September to December 6, when quarantine measures were strengthened.

In various online communities and social network services (SNS), reviews of people complaining about the pain of inter-floor noise caused by the prolonged corona are posted one after another.

One netizen complained of pain, saying, “After protesting several times, I blocked the interphone and did not respond to any conversations,” he said. “I protested a few times from 7 am to 12 pm.”

Another netizen said, “Because I work from home, I suffer from floor noise all day,” and “Adults are more severe. I pound during the day, drink and sing at night…”

There are also statistics proving that interfloor noise disputes have increased. Around January 20, when the first coronavirus confirmed in Korea, it increased significantly.

According to the data obtained by KBS through a request from the Korea Environmental Corporation (Inter-floor Noise Neighborhood Center) in February last year, the inter-floor noise received at the Korea Environmental Corporation’s call center for 23 days after the date of the occurrence of a confirmed case in Korea (20 Jan 20-20 Feb 2020). The number of disputes was 963. Compared to the previous 23 days (2019.12.28~2020.1.19), it increased by 77.3%.

As the corona crisis prolongs, controversy continues over the issue of interfloor noise in the entertainment industry.

Comedian Lee Hwi-jae and his wife came to the fore because of the inter-floor noise problem. Lee Hwi-jae’s wife, Moon Jeong-won, apologized, saying, “I have nowhere to go because of the corona,” and “I will swear and teach the children to be more careful,” when the neighbors of the lower house left a protest about the floor noise on his Instagram.

Previously, Mr. Moon is known to have posted a video of his twin sons wearing sneakers and playing baseball on Instagram.

The comedian’s safety was also faced with critical public opinion due to the inter-floor noise dispute. Ahn’s wife is known to have revealed the children on the trampoline at home on Instagram.

In an interview with the media, Ahn said in an interview with the media that the children seemed to have been stressed out of school and academy due to Corona 19.
