Kia Motors and Kakao Mobility are planning to join hands so that electric vehicles can quickly become available to the taxi industry.

On the 12th, Kia Motors and Kakao Mobility signed a business agreement (MOU) to promote the supply of eco-friendly electric vehicles at the Kia Motors office building in Apgujeong, Seoul on the 12th. It was revealed on the 13th.

The aim is to increase the convenience and satisfaction of all workers in the transportation industry including taxis, passengers, and general motorists by combining Kia Motors’ electric vehicle technology and related infrastructure with Kakao Mobility’s mobility platform, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the atmospheric environment. .

The two companies plan to reduce the inconvenience and burden of taxi operators as much as possible in the entire process of electric taxi ▲selection ▲purchase ▲use ▲charging so that electric vehicles can be quickly distributed and settled in the taxi industry.

In the long term, from the planning stage of the electric PBV (Purpose Built Vehicle) model of Kia Motors, the two companies make joint efforts to reflect the various ideas of the taxi industry, and in the future, a new model for the growth of the electric vehicle market and innovation in the mobility industry. We plan to discover growth engines.

To this end, Kia Motors will play a role in the fields of electric and electric vehicle related technologies, charging infrastructure, battery and vehicle warranty, and maintenance support. Kakao Mobility provides infrastructure and solutions using the platform.

Kia Motors and Kakao Mobility plan to ultimately contribute to the popularization of electric vehicles by exploring various ways to build the electric vehicle industry ecosystem, starting with providing customized solutions for electric taxis for taxi operators.
