On the 13th, Hyundai Motor Company first unveiled an external teaser (taste) image (photo) of the crossover utility vehicle (CUV) Ioniq 5, the first model of the exclusive electric vehicle brand Ioniq.

Ionic 5 is the first model to apply E-GMP, a platform exclusively for electric vehicles of Hyundai Motor Group. E-GMP can drive up to 500km or more with one charge depending on the vehicle type. It is equipped with an 800V charging system and can be charged up to 80% in 18 minutes by using a super fast charger.

Ioniq 5 features parametric pixels and nature-friendly colors and materials. Parametric pixels applied to headlamps, taillights, and wheels are the shape of pixels, which are the smallest units of an image.

On the front, a clamshell hood in the shape of a clam lid that covers the entire upper part of Hyundai Motors’s first was applied to reduce the line divided by a line where faces meet. It is impressive that the side section is equipped with 20-inch wheels, the largest of Hyundai’s electric vehicles. Hyundai Motor Company plans to unveil the world’s first Ioniq 5 online next month.

Hyundai Motor Company also showed four videos containing the core technologies of Ioniq 5. There are three videos titled “Ultimate Camping,” and they feature turkey cooking in an electric oven in a camping site through technology that supplies electricity from a vehicle to the outside.

The video called’Five Minute Challenge’ shows the competition between the Ioniq 5, which can drive more than 100 km on a 5-minute charge, and a smartphone, action cam, and laptop charged for 5 minutes each, to see who lasts longer.
