In the aftermath of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19), 220,000 people nationwide give it, compared to the worst thing since the financial crisis.
According to the annual employment trend released on the 13th by the Honam Regional Statistics Office, the number of employed in Gwangju was 748,000, which was only 2,000 (-0.3%) compared to the previous year.
Considering that the number of employed by year increased steadily, such as 730,000 in 2016, 744,000 in 2017, and 749,000 and 750,000 in 2018 and 2019, the slight decrease is analyzed as the aftermath of Corona 19.
By industry, the number of individuals in the private public service industry and the construction industry decreased by 5,000 and 4,000, respectively, but unusually increased by 7,000 in the wholesale, retail, lodging and food industry.
This is in contrast to the decrease of 300,000 people in the wholesale and retail accommodation business nationwide.
The number of economically active population was 778,000, which was only 1,000 (-0.1%) compared to the previous year.
The employment rate was 58.7%, down 0.6%p from the previous year.
The unemployment rate and the number of unemployed were 3.9% and 30,000, respectively, up 0.2 percentage points from the previous year, and 1,000 people (4.2%) increased.
The number of employed workers in Jeonnam was 974,000, the same as the previous year.
The economically active population was 998,000, down 2,000 (-0.2%) from the previous year, and the employment rate was 63.9%, up 0.5%p from the previous year.
By industry, social overhead capital (-16,000 people) and public personal service business (-6 thousand people) increased in agriculture, forestry and fisheries (14,000 people), mining industry (3,000 people), and manufacturing industries (3,000 people) instead of giving them to employees.
The unemployment rate and the number of unemployed were 2.4% and 24,000, respectively, down 0.2%p from the previous year, and 2,000 (-7.5%).
An official from the Honam Regional Statistical Office said, “The increase in the number of employed in the personal service industry is non-face-to-face, and it is analyzed that the number of employed in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery industries is due to the activation of delivery services and the regional characteristics.”
The official added, “As the number of sample surveys is less than 2,000 households, there is a limit to accurate statistics.”
