NVIDIA’s mainstream graphics card GeForce GTX 1060 is the most popular among gamers. The GeForce RTX 3060, a new graphics card that inherits the lineage of the product, has appeared, and its higher VRAM capacity than the high-end GeForce RTX 3080 attracts attention.
Nvidia unveiled the GeForce RTX 3060 at dawn on the 13th (Korean time), at its own event’GeForce RTX: Game On’. It is based on Ampere architecture and supports ray tracing and DLSS. The desired consumer price was set at $329 (about 360,000 won).
The main feature of the GeForce RTX 3060 is 12GB of high-capacity VRAM. The number of base and boost clocks, CUDA cores, and RT cores are less than that of the GeForce RTX 3060Ti, which is the next higher product, but the VRAM capacity is the highest except for the GeForce RTX 3090 among the RTX 30 series released to date.
In this announcement, NVIDIA also unveiled the’Resizable BAR’ feature that is comparable to AMD Smart Access Memory. This feature, combined with a compatible motherboard, enhances the gaming performance of the graphics card with advanced PCI Express (PCIe) that allows the CPU to access all GPU memory at once. Starting with the RTX 3060, it is applied sequentially to the RTX 30 series.

“The unstoppable momentum of ray tracing has quickly redefined the new gaming standard,” said Matt Wuebbling, head of global GeForce marketing at NVIDIA. “It brings the benefits of the RTX 30 series to millions of gamers.”
The GeForce RTX 3060 is expected to be released in late February. You can also meet stock clock and factory overclock models manufactured by Asus, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, Pallet, PNY, and Zotech.
