In vitro cell test results, listed in international journals
Excellent compared to remdesivir

Hanmi Pharmaceutical(366,000 +1.67%)On the 13th, it was announced on the 13th that the research result that the main component of’Hanmi Cold Mask Nasal Spray’, a respiratory virus blocker applied to the nose, effectively blocks the corona 19 virus, etc.
The Scientific Reports published by Nature published a paper on the results of an in vitro cell experiment that evaluated the antiviral activity of lambdacarrageenan, conducted by the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology. Lambdacarrageenan, a naturally derived ingredient extracted from seaweed, is the main ingredient of Hanmi cold mask nasal spray.
The researchers used a 50% effective concentration (EC50) and a selectivity index as an index to evaluate the antiviral activity of lambdacarrageenan against the corona 19 causative virus (SARS-CoV-2) and influenza virus types A and B, the main cause of the pandemic flu. (SI) was used.
In the SARS-CoV-2 virus test conducted on monkey kidney epithelial-derived fibroblasts (Vero cells), lambdacarrageenan showed more than 15 times more antiviral activity than remdesivir.
In an influenza A·B virus test conducted in canine kidney epithelial cells (MDCK cells), lambdacarrageenan showed similar or superior antiviral activity to previously known chemicals. Lambdacarrageenan also showed excellent results in SI indicating safety versus efficacy.
An official of Hanmi Pharmaceutical said, “The Hanmi cold mask nasal spray can effectively block virus penetration through the nose,” and said, “If used in combination with the KF94 mask, it will be an effective personal defense tool.”
