Intel unveiled a new processor for work, education, and gaming laptops through a keynote speech at CES 2021 on the 11th (US local time).

The new products include ▲11th generation Core vPro processor with remote control and hardware-based security functions in B2B environment ▲Pentium Silver/Celeron processor for educational entry-level PCs ▲11th generation Core H 4-core processor designed for games.

Intel announced that the 11th-generation core processor (Rocket Lake) for desktop and Tiger Lake H processor that operates with 8 cores and 16 threads will be released soon. In addition, a PC with a prototype of the next-generation core processor’Alder Lake’ made with a hybrid structure was also unveiled.

■ 11th generation Core vPro processor released

Intel 11th Gen Core vPro processor is a product that adds security and management functions necessary for business environments while maintaining the performance and functions of the 11th Gen Core processor for notebooks released in the second half of last year.

It has a built-in’hardware shield’, a security function that can block malicious codes such as ransomware and cryptocurrency mining, and management functions such as installing emergency patches or security software remotely by corporate administrators can be utilized.

Intel also launched the’Evo vPro’ platform, which extends the notebook experience and performance certification program, EVO. More than 60 types of notebooks with Evo vPro are expected to be released this year.

■ Pentium Silver Celeron processor targeting the educational market

Intel also unveiled six new processors to be installed in educational notebooks, including the Pentium Silver N6000 series and Celeron N4500·N5100 series. This product is aimed at increasing demand for online learning due to Corona 19 and increasing demand for PCs with adequate performance.

The top-of-the-line Pentium Silver N6005 operates with 4 cores and 4 threads, and its operating clock goes up to 3.3GHz. In addition, the entire amount is produced in the Intel 10nm (nanometer) process.

According to Intel’s own performance comparison, application execution speed improved by up to 35% and graphics performance by up to 78%. Laptops with various operating systems such as Windows 10, Linux, and Google Chrome will be released.

■ Core H processor with enhanced game performance

The 11th generation Core H35 processor that Intel unveiled on this day is a processor that can maximize gaming performance in a laptop with a 14/15 inch screen and less than 18mm thick.

It operates based on 4 cores and 8 threads, and has expanded the power consumption up to 35W, and unlike last year, all of it is produced in the 10nm superfin process.

Core i7-11375H processor, the top product, is capable of overclocking up to 5.0GHz for one core and 4.8GHz for two cores. Intel explained that by combining this processor with the latest graphics chipset for NVIDIA notebooks, it can achieve up to 70 frames per second or more on a full HD screen.

Including Taiwanese PC makers such as Acer, Asus, and MSI, various companies such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo are planning to release more than 40 types of notebooks with built-in Core H35 processors. Core H processors with 8 cores are also expected to be released at the end of March.

■ 11th generation desktop chip, released within the first quarter

In November last year, Intel announced plans to release the 11th-generation core processor (Rocket Lake) for desktop use. This processor is produced in the 14nm process by mixing the internal structure of the 10th generation core processor (Ice Lake) and the Xe graphics chipset applied from the 11th generation core processor.
