In the midst of a ‘gap-jil controversy,’ after the Air Force unit ordered a chicken worth 1.25 million won and refunded it in full, the content of a post posted online by a person who claimed to be a ‘Air Force official’ turned out to be different from the truth.
At the end of last year, a chicken franchise company in Goyang City left a single star and a protest post because a military official who ordered chicken was paid more for delivery. A reviewer known as a soldier said, “When I ordered a group last time, I gave a few dozens of chicken breasts, so the troops protested and refunded it.”
The chicken franchisee, who saw this, admitted, “At the time, four or five pieces were incorrectly divided and packaged, and was insufficient,” but said, “We repeatedly apologized for the wrong and added additional chicken, and served 120 cheese balls and cola.” However, despite the efforts of the franchisees, the disagreement did not narrow at the time, so the owner eventually refunded the chicken price of 1.25 million won to the military unit. The time when the refund case occurred was announced in May of last year.
As the above incident became known late, netizens accused the air force of being “cheap” or not. Then, a netizen who said he was a member of the unit posted a post online and said, “Not because the chicken breast is too thick and dry, but because the chicken is in a very bad condition, so he got a bad smell and suffered from diarrhea and abdominal pain, so he requested a refund through the headquarters. “I haven’t been apologized by the owner.”
In addition, “the company is not a company that uses chickens supplied from the head office, so refunds were made with the consent of the head office,” and “the business owner visited the military base and made an additional accusation.”
However, an official from the headquarters said in a call with YTN PLUS, “There seems to be a part that the Air Force has responded excessively. The content of the online posting saying that the chicken was used is not true, and it was confirmed that it was made with genuine products supplied by the headquarters.”
The claim that a refund was requested through the headquarters was also different. An official said, “Refunds were made 1:1 by the franchisees and military units. Since the franchisees are in an area with many military units, the business owners just gave them a refund, in case the relationship was distorted and strange rumors were made.”
An official said, “The content that the franchisees were haphazard is different from the fact. However, he asked for an interview because he wanted to meet, but he did not accept it. He visited him and asked for an interview, but he was rejected. He said that he never made a loud voice during the interview. It’s in front of the unit, so you can check it out.”
The official said, “What happened in May last year was controversial lately. This happened because the business owners were so afraid of the horror terrorism that black consumers are doing,” he said. “The boss was surprised a lot right now,” he said.

The controversy over chicken in the air force even appeared in the Blue House national petition. The petition, registered on the 11th, has been changed to a petition currently under public review with the consent of thousands.
Meanwhile, the official Instagram of the Republic of Korea Air Force (rokaf_official) said, “The unit is checking the facts to resolve the problem smoothly. We will ensure that appropriate measures can be taken through the unit in the future.” .
