‘Jinju International Prayer Center’ continues to be confirmed … Jinju City, representative accused

Among the people who visited the’Jinju International Prayer Center’ where a group of confirmed corona19 patients occurred, it was found that around 10 people were not being tested. Jinju City conducts financial inquiries with the police to determine the contact information of visitors.

Mayor Jo Gyu-il made this announcement at Jinju City Hall on the morning of the 12th through an explanation of the status of the occurrence of confirmed cases. In Jinju, six new confirmed cases have occurred from the afternoon of the 11th to the present, and one of them is related to’Jinju Golf Course’.

Of the five new confirmed cases related to the Jinju International Prayer Center, four are visitors and one is the visitor’s spouse. In connection with this prayer center, 29 confirmed patients came out on the 11th, and the infection continues.

Mayor Cho Gyu-il said, “To end the incident of primary group infection early, we have organized a special countermeasure group with 15 people in 3 classes and are taking strong measures.”

As of January, the number of visitors to this prayer center was initially identified as 180, but in Jinju City, 52 were double registered, and the actual number of visitors was 128.

Of these, 43 were tested, 18 were scheduled, 11 were not, and 56 were residents of other regions.

Of those who did not conduct the inspection (11 persons), three claimed that they had not visited the facility, two were’absent’ and six were’missing’, Jinju City said.

Mayor Jo Gyu-il said, “For visitors who are absent or unable to check the diagnostic test and contact person due to absence, we will use all possible means to ensure the health and safety of citizens.”

Jinju City sent “letters to guide legal action” to 2 people’absent’, and 6 people who came out with’missing numbers’, said, “Since January, we have secured both the history of visiting prayer centers and the list of lodging guests at the same time. We are looking for similar numbers while matching,” he explained.

In addition, Mayor Cho Gyu-il said, “In cooperation with the Jinju Police Station, we requested a financial inquiry to secure a list through tracking sponsor accounts, and requested GPS location confirmation to determine the location.”

Since the end of December 2020, Jinju International Prayer Center has conducted guidance and inspection on the implementation of quarantine regulations in Jinju City several times, but has continued face-to-face worship.

Jinju City warned the prayer center to be’non-face-to-face’ on December 29th, and fined it on the 30th. The facility was closed.

Jinju City has accused the representative of the prayer center for violating the Infectious Disease Control Act.

Jinju City said, “We have conducted a total investigation of six religious facilities similar to the Jinju International Prayer Center, and one of them has an administrative order for the corona19 diagnostic test and the facility is closed.”

Mayor Cho Gyu-il said, “I appeal to the citizens to block the spread of group infection at the Jinju International Prayer Center.” He said, “From the 12th to the 18th, we will raise the social distancing step by 2.5 steps for a week, which will again cause difficulties and discomfort in daily life. Please understand.”

Mayor Cho explained, “This social distancing step 2.5 is an inevitable measure to preemptively block the spread of the group infection that occurred at Jinju International Prayer Center on the 11th.”
