The city of Seoul has asked citizens of Seoul who have a history of visiting the’BJT World Center’ in Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, which has been designated as a transmission route of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), to undergo tests by the 15th of this month.

Seoul City Cultural Policy Division head Baek Un-seok said at an online briefing on the 11th, explaining the status of tracking the transmission of Corona 19 related to religious facilities and observing the quarantine rules.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government explained that it took over a list of 283 visitors from the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (middle script), whose address is Seoul, and issued an order to perform the diagnostic tests for the first time on the 5th.

As of January 8th, 96 people were tested and 5 of them were tested positive.

There are 169 untested, of which 45 will be tested.

However, 45 people refused to be tested for reasons such as saying that they have never been to the BJT Universal Center. In addition, 79 people were not contacted due to inability to receive calls or missing numbers.

The city of Seoul urged non-testers to undergo tests by the 15th and issued an order to perform the second diagnostic test.

The city announced that starting on the 11th, government officials of the autonomous district will visit the address of uninspected persons in person to encourage prosecutors and check their absence. If necessary, the official in charge will visit with the police officer.

Manager Paik emphasized that “if the prosecution is rejected without a justifiable reason, we plan to respond strictly, including accusations.”

He also announced on the 10th that as a result of checking compliance with the quarantine regulations at 1,300 religious facilities in the city, the city and autonomous districts have found nine churches that violated the quarantine regulations.

By reason of detection, there are 5 non-face-to-face worship sites, 2 in-person worship services, and 2 non-preacher masks.

The city plans to impose strict measures, such as banning gatherings from churches where violations were found.

“As a result of on-site inspection, there have been cases of violating the quarantine regulations as above, but we have confirmed that most religious facilities are complying with the quarantine regulations well even in difficult conditions.” Emphasized.
