The city of Busan announced on the 12th that it will visit the’Busan City Child Protection Center’ (Ami-dong, Seo-gu) and the child rearing facility’Aeawon’ (Gamcheon-dong, Saha-gu).
This site visit is promoted to check the current status of child abuse countermeasures and to encourage children and workers admitted to the facility. In particular, Byeon Seong-wan, acting mayor of Busan, plans to carefully examine their parenting environment by encouraging children admitted to the Awawon where 67 children are living and listening to suggestions.
Last year, the city of Busan assigned 41 public officials in charge of child abuse in 16 gus and counties, so that each gu/gun conducts child abuse investigations that were previously in charge of specialized child protection agencies, and is divided into 25 institutions including courts, police offices, and offices of education. By organizing and operating a dedicated child protection organization, efforts are being made to establish a close public-centered child safety net.
