LG Rollable is a new form factor (product appearance) smartphone with a rolled up screen. It is the result of the second project of the’Explorer Project’, LG Electronics’ new smartphone strategy following’LG Wing’.

It is usually similar in shape to existing smartphones, but when you need a large screen, you can open the screen rolled up on one side. It was nicknamed’Sangsomun Phone’ because it was similar to the one that rolled up appeals in the past.

As LG Electronics prepared for this CES event, there was no official comment on whether or not LG Rollable was released. However, industry observations are that there is a high possibility that only a short teaser video will be released rather than the public and exhibition so that the audience can see the real thing.

Earlier, LG Electronics released a teaser video suggesting a rollable phone for the first time at the time of the wing release in September last year. An industry official said, “The video that LG Electronics is releasing this time will be a bit longer and more detailed than the video that it showed when the Wing was released.”

The detailed specifications of the product are expected to be difficult to confirm yet. Currently, LG Rollable’s known specifications are said to be expandable to 7.4 inches (1600×2428) by expanding the screen to the default 6.8 inches (1080×2428).

The aspect ratio of the product is 20:9, 16:9, 3:2, etc., and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 AP (application processor), 16GB RAM (RAM), 4200mAh (milliamps) large-capacity battery is expected to be installed. . According to Tron, an IT information tipster, the product is estimated to be about $2359 (about 2,570,000 won).

LG Electronics is expected to hold a separate public event in the first quarter of this year and introduce its products as early as possible. It was reported that the release date was influential around March as early as this, but the schedule was postponed to the second quarter as it was judged that it was not ahead of the rollable phone released by Oppo in China earlier in technology.
