In his New Year’s address, President Moon Jae-in referred to the strengthening of the ROK-US alliance in principle toward the Biden administration, which is about to launch next week.

At the same time, he also expressed his willingness to promote non-face-to-face talks, insisting that he will make the last effort to achieve a great turnaround between the US-North Korea dialogue and the inter-Korean dialogue that has been in a stalemate.

In his New Year’s address, President Moon Jae-in emphasized that this year is the 30th anniversary of the simultaneous accession of the United Nations between the two Koreas and emphasized the will to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.

To this end, we pledged to make final efforts to resume inter-Korean dialogue.

While briefly mentioning the strengthening of the ROK-US alliance, we again proposed inter-Korean quarantine cooperation as a concrete measure for improving inter-Korean relations.

Chairman Kim Jong-un reaffirmed his willingness to reopen the door of dialogue through quarantine cooperation, in which he actually refused in a report at the 8th party conference.

He said that if face-to-face talks are difficult, it will proceed in a non-face-to-face manner.

At the same time, he emphasized the joint implementation of the three principles of’No War’,’Mutual Security’, and’Common Prosperity’ proposed in the 2019 UN General Assembly keynote speech.

It is quite different from the North Korean Party Congress’s strong economic climate.
