When asked for public opinion on whether the former president’s amnesty contributes to national unity, six out of ten responded negatively that they would not be able to contribute.

The people’s power poured out criticism, saying that they were using the former president’s pardon tactically.

So, what do the people think of the former president’s pardon?

When YTN asked whether the two former presidential pardons contributed to national unity when asked by Real Meter, a polling agency, 6 out of 10 responded negatively.

38.8% of respondents said they would contribute to the integration.

Responses differed greatly by party supporting the Democratic Party, while 81.7% of the Democratic Party supporters received negative responses, while 64.1% of the People’s Power supporters were positive.

The pardon for the former president has some confusion within the passport, but it appears to have led to the effect of gathering Democratic supporters.

Also noteworthy is the response by age group.

More than 70% of respondents in their 20s and 30s, who value fairness, said that amnesty would not contribute to the integration of the people, but more positive responses were found in their 60s and 70s.

By region, only in Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, positive responses outperformed negative responses, and in the rest of the regions, there were many negative responses.

If the sentence of former President Park Geun-hye is confirmed at the Supreme Court’s re-appeal on the 14th, the former president’s pardon will again emerge as a major concern and public opinion is expected to fluctuate once again.
