On the 10th, the Ministry of Justice announced that an additional member of the Dongbu detention center was tested positive as of 8 am, and the number of corona confirmed persons at correctional facilities nationwide increased to 1224.
The number of confirmed detainees by institution was 668 in the eastern detention center, 333 in North Gyeongsang Province 2, 16 in Gwangju, 17 in southern Seoul, 1 in Seoul, and 3 in Gangwon-do.
In the 7th total examination of 574 people whose results were obtained the previous day, 12 prisoners were further confirmed. There are 11 male prisoners and 1 female prisoner.
The Ministry of Justice believes that the corona 19 confirmation rate in correctional facilities in the metropolitan area has been broken. Previously, from the 30th of last month to the 6th of last month, in a total inspection conducted on 11,138 employees of 33 correctional institutions nationwide and 31,893 prisoners, all except 5 prisoners were negative.
Suwon Detention Center and Incheon Detention Center, which are high-rise correctional facilities such as Dongbu Detention Center, were also negatively judged. Concerned that a second Dongbu detention center crisis could occur, the Ministry of Justice ordered the establishment of an immediate operation system for the quarantine living room for confirmed patients and the quarantine accommodation building for close contact.
However, there are still cases in which detainees transferred from the Dongbu detention center to other facilities are confirmed later, so it is not a situation to be relieved yet. Four of the five people who were confirmed to be confirmed on the 7th were also detainees who were transferred after receiving negative tests at the Dongbu Detention Center.
The death toll is also a concern. A male prisoner in her 70s who was incarcerated in the Eastern Detention Center died after being tested positive for Corona 19 on the 25th of last month. On the morning of the morning, he complained of dyspnea in the living room and was transferred to the hospital after receiving first aid measures such as CPR, but died. It is known that Mr. A usually had underlying diseases such as angina and high blood pressure. Accordingly, the number of prisoners who died of Corona 19 in correctional facilities nationwide has increased to three, including Mr. A.
In addition, it is important to keep track of the fact that about half of the detainees who were confirmed at the Dongbu Detention Center and transferred to the North Gyeongsangbuk-do Second Prison were negative. As a result of re-examination of 341 confirmed patients, 155 people were tested negative at once.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Justice is planning to conduct additional inspections on the Dongbu Detention Center and Seoul Detention Center, where confirmed cases are continuing. The remaining 19 institutions that have not yet been fully investigated will be tested as soon as possible. It is known that the eighth full-scale examination for prisoners of the Eastern Detention Center is also being prepared.
