I can’t take the remaining 13 days… US democratic “impeachment if Trump cannot be deprived of duty”

U.S. President Donald Trump was finally driven to the situation of’receiving a winner’ and became a big deal. President Trump, who instigated extreme political division throughout his tenure and disapproved of the results of the presidential election, eventually pushed himself to the end of the disgrace of being deprived of office or impeachment in the Capitol riots caused by fierce supporters.

On the 7th (local time), Senate Democratic Party leader Chuck Schumer said in a statement, “Trump should not be in office for another day,” and demanded that the 25th Amendment be invoked immediately. Seventeen Democratic House congressmen sent a letter to Vice President Mike Pence demanding the initiation of Article 25. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, the only Republican active in the Republican Party, publicly expressed his support. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, a Republican party, agreed that “there is no question that resigning or ousting yourself is best for the United States.”

Article 25, paragraph 4 of the Constitution, amended in 1967, provides for cases in which the President, who was unable to perform his duties, refuses to transfer his powers to the Vice President, but has not yet been invoked. Upon the decision of the Vice President and with the consent of at least eight Ministers and the Parliament, the Vice President may immediately act on behalf of the President. However, Vice President Pence is said to be in a position against the invocation of Article 25 of the Amendment.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “President Trump instigated an armed rebellion,” and said, “If the Vice President opposes, Congress will prepare for impeachment.” However, it seems unlikely that an emergency impeachment will take place before President-elect Joe Biden takes office on the 20th.

Physically, time is so tight, and for the impeachment to be completed, two-thirds of the approval must be obtained from the Senate. However, in the House of Representatives, in a symbolic sense, the possibility of a decision on impeachment with a majority vote cannot be excluded. It is known that some lawmakers have already prepared impeachment bills on the basis of rebellion. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) also urged President Trump to resign in an editorial. WSJ argued, “If Mr. Trump wants to avoid a second impeachment, it is best to take personal responsibility and withdraw,” and “it is best for everyone to disappear quietly.”

In the Axios-Ipsos emergency poll that day, 51% of all respondents agreed to oust President Trump. 86% of the Democratic supporters agreed, but only 15% of the Republican supporters agreed.

President Trump suddenly became a’mild sheep’. President Trump, who received a temporary suspension of accounts on Twitter the previous day, posted a video after the account opened that afternoon, promising a peaceful transfer of power. In particular, he admitted his defeat, saying that a new government will be launched on the 20th.

“It was an honor in my life to serve as your president,” said President Trump. “Now that Congress has certified the election results, I will focus on ensuring a smooth and orderly transfer of power.”

What attracted attention was that he denied his responsibility for the riots in the Capitol, but rather strongly condemned the actions of its supporters. “The protesters who broke into the Capitol desecrated American democracy,” he said. “You don’t represent our country, and those who break the law will pay the price.” It was 180 degrees different from what he said “I love you” while urging for dissolution in a video message immediately after the intrusion of the Capitol on the 6th.

When the Trump administration became a man-in-the-middle, a parade was followed by aides trying to escape from the shipwreck. They announced President Trump’s responsibility for the situation the day before as a reason for resignation, but the belated disembarkation did not attract public attention. Transportation Minister Elaine Chao resigned for the first time among ministers after raising a claim of responsibility for President Trump, saying, “The intrusion into the Capitol was an inevitable incident.” Chao is the wife of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who turned his back on President Trump and led the certification of the election results.

Education Minister Betsy Debos and Northern Ireland envoy Mick Mulvaini, former White House secretary, also resigned. Among the White House secretaries, several people, including Matthew Potinger, assistant adviser to the National Security Council (NSC), resigned the day before.
