Dreamtech announced on the 8th that it will supply sensors for artificial joint surgery to the medical device company’Stryker’.
Striker is a multinational medical device company in the field of surgical robots, artificial joints and surgical equipment. Sales in 2019 were $14.9 billion (about 16 trillion won). Striker acquired the US’Orthosensor’ on the 5th, which has sensor technology for artificial joint replacement surgery to strengthen competitiveness in the orthopedic business.
Dreamtech invested 2 million dollars (about 2 billion won) in Oso Sensor in 2018 and jointly developed a sensor for artificial joint surgery. The product has been mass-produced since 2019. With the acquisition of Striker’s Oso Sensor, Dreamtech will supply Striker with artificial joint surgery sensors. Dreamtech recently developed a wearable device’Motion Sense’ that helps rehabilitation after an artificial joint replacement surgery, jointly developed with Orso Sensor.
Striker plans to increase the performance of the artificial joint surgery robot’MAKO’ system by using Dreamtech’s artificial joint surgery sensor. Dreamtech’s artificial joint surgery sensor can provide real-time surgical data to medical staff in the process of artificial joint replacement surgery.
Following the supply of sensors for artificial joint surgery, Dreamtech plans to promote cooperation in various medical equipment business with Striker.
