On the 7th, Samsung Electronics held the’Samsung First Look 2021′ event online and announced various eco-friendly policies with the intention of reducing carbon in the TV production process as well as enabling resource circulation throughout the product life cycle.
This is in accordance with Samsung Electronics’ newly announced’Screen For All’ vision. Screen for All is an advanced concept from Samsung Electronics’ existing’Screens Everywhere’ to provide an optimal display solution.
In order to take the lead in environmental protection, Samsung Electronics decided to expand the application of’Eco Package’, a TV packaging material that can be recycled and used as a daily necessity, from the existing lifestyle TV product line to all TVs.
It is to change the packaging design entirely, such as applying a dot design to each side of a packaging box made of existing cardboard, and allowing the consumer to easily cut and assemble it into a desired shape.

Through this, Samsung Electronics also provided manuals that can produce various types of products such as companion animals and small furniture, so that consumers can easily obtain production information. It is part of’upcycling’ that regenerates useless and discarded materials into high value-added products for new uses.
At the same time, it was decided to simplify the design of the TV packaging material. Samsung Electronics said, “Recently, TV screens are getting bigger and packaging is getting bigger,” he said. “At the same time, packaging design is becoming an important marketing factor, but Samsung Electronics will simplify packaging design to reduce carbon.”
Samsung Electronics also introduced a new’Solar Cell Remote Control’ that charges by using only sunlight or indoor lighting.
Samsung Electronics said, “Based on the TV replacement cycle of about 7 years, more than 99 million disposable batteries are used worldwide.”

It also said that it will enable consumers to use the TV longer through continuous software (SW) updates and product after-sale service (A/S) enhancements. “It will minimize e-waste and set an example of a circular economy,” the company said.
