The government decided to pay 90% of the subsidies for damages to small businesses due to the third spread of Corona 19 before Lunar New Year holidays. It was decided to secure the vaccine after paying 1 trillion won in advance payment for vaccine purchases, including 20 million copies of the Corona 19 vaccine from US Modena. Vaccination will begin in February from medical staff and the elderly.
Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki made this announcement at the emergency economy central countermeasure headquarters meeting held on the 6th.
First, in the case of the support fund for small business owners and the emergency employment stabilization support fund, the government publishes a business announcement on the 6th to those who have already received it, and receives an online application and pays it from the 11th. The goal is to complete 90% payment before the Lunar New Year holiday. This includes 2.5 million existing beneficiaries of the support fund for small business owners, 650,000 existing beneficiaries of the emergency employment stabilization support fund, and 80,000 corporate taxi drivers who benefit from the income stabilization fund. Private taxi drivers are paid 1 million won for small businesses and general businesses.
The support fund is 3 million won for the prohibited collective business, 2 million won for the collective restricted business, and 1 million won is paid to small business owners with reduced sales. Reduction in sales This is possible when small business owners have annual sales of less than 400 million won and sales in 2020 are less than sales in 2019.
For small business owners who apply immediately after receiving the text, the support fund will be paid as early as the afternoon of the 11th or the morning of the 12th. From the 7th, information can also be received through the call center (1522-3500) for the convenience of applicants. The remaining 10% of new applicants will be paid by March. Kim A-reum, head of the Korea Coin Singing Training Center Association, said, “Though the support fund of 3 million won is not a small amount of money, it is not enough to make up for the operating loss.”
In addition, lending loans for small business owners worth KRW 1 trillion (annual interest rate 1.9%) for the prohibited collective business will start lending during this month through an online application method. The limit is 10 million won. For collectively restricted businesses, the guarantee rate for loans (3 trillion won) and the second-stage financial support program for small business owners (remaining 3,600 billion won) will be lowered.
Meanwhile, the vaccine purchase cost of about 1 trillion won, such as advance payment to purchase 20 million copies of Moderna’s Corona 19 vaccine, will also be executed as planned. However, the vaccine that will be vaccinated from February is expected to be the UK AstraZeneca vaccine, not the moder vaccine. This is because Moderna decided to supply it to Korea from May. AstraZeneca vaccine is currently being approved by the Korean Food and Drug Administration. The government plans to unveil a specific vaccination plan later this month.
Deputy Prime Minister Hong urged the relevant ministries to make every effort to prepare in advance so that there is no setback in supporting small businesses and purchasing vaccines. Reporter Kim Deok-jun casiopea@
