An incident occurred in which a man suspected of taking drugs trespassed and walked for more than three hours in the government’s Sejong, the highest-class national security facility.

State-of-the-art security devices and CCTVs that illuminate every corner of the building were useless.

After a while, he also crosses the fence and heads to the underground parking lot with his bag.

The man went around for more than three hours without any restraints, entering the Ministry of Health and Welfare building of the Government Complex Sejong.

The government announced that it had strengthened security such as the access system after trespassing in the Seoul Government Complex twice in 2012 and 2016, but another absurd incident occurred.

The underground parking lot door, which should only be opened when entering the vehicle, was open, but there was no additional security in the basement.

There was a security device at the entrance to the underground parking lot, but it did not work at the time, the government building management office said.

Because of this, it was possible to enter the building without a pass.

CCTVs for constant surveillance were installed throughout the government building, but no one noticed while Mr. A was walking.

Mr. A walked around the government building, including in front of the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s office for about 3 hours, and then slipped out to the main entrance of the building.

After that, Mr. A attempted to enter again through the main gate, and the police were dispatched twice after taking a strange behavior to block the access road near the government building.

However, it was 17 hours after the incident that the government office was aware of Mr. A’s trespassing and reported it to the police.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security announced that it would urgently inspect the route of trespassing and come up with measures to prevent recurrence.

Whenever there is an intrusion to the building, the government has introduced various measures to prevent recurrence, such as a’fence motion detection sensor’, but strengthening the security of the building in response to the absurd trespassing incident again ended up burning fire.
